I rather like like this new professor better than the Dingo or whatever his name was. And the little goblin because I don't have any financial plans for my future, nor do I have a career in mind. I thought I could either be a traveling gypsy. A trapeze artist. Those were the only two careers I had in mind. More importantly, I just want to own a bright blue and yellow Victorian style house, cats I will dress in jumper vests, and one of those conversation pits that the Beatles' had in Help. That's as far as my future plans go. I hope I can at the very least, achieve at least one of those things. And Lourdes is my partner for the making new friends thing, and she's all ready my friend. So, good for us and we can use that valuable time instead of getting to know each other for chasing lightening bugs and making lovely things.

This is what I knitted for Arnold. He likes argyle, I like it too. I like keeping my hands busy with knitting. And with drawing. And making jewelry. It's rather lovely to watch your hands create things. I'd be doing the same things at home as I am here. Except I'd be doing them in my mum's flower garden. And I'd be wearing way more vintage slips. I love vintage slips, but they seem a little inappropriate for school.

This is what I've been reading for fun. I rather love Fitzgerald because his characters are beautiful, destructive, and melancholy. Sometimes you need beauty in your life, and his words just spin that wonderfully.

I'm going to start my knitting project for someone special. He's rather lovely, and I'm going to paint him a lovely painting. I rather hope he thinks they're as lovely as I think is.

Happy birthday Vincent Head Boy. I hope you got everything you wished for. I wish for fireflies and rainbows on my birthday. You're welcome to wish for those things as well if you like.

Love and peace,
Laurel

I don't really like to make plans for the future, I just figured that when the right things were going to happen, they would just come to me. I'd happen upon a place to live. Hopefully something colourful though. If I ever buy a house, I want to paint it sky blue with pale yellow shutters. Or I want it to look like a gingerbread house. That would be so lovely.

Kirby, I finished your jumper, and I will bring it to you at dinner if you like. It's rather nice, and stripey. I hope you like it.

I used a smooth knit, so you don't see the knits too much, it just looks rather store bought. If I were knitting something for myself, I like, big chunky knits, and mismatched buttons, I just knitted myself a rather lovely jumper cardigan. It's sky blue and has little buttons that look like animals on it. My da told me it looked rather odd, but my mum liked it quite a bit. My da can be a bit of a fuddy duddy honestly.

Hexed to group three )

My mum sent me a book about yoga, the poses and what not. We should have a yoga party one day! It will be very relaxing, and increase our flexibility as well. Just a lovely thought.

Love and peace,

My last days of summer, that last weekend. I spent them on my bike, which I re-painted. Shimmering white and blue. In the sun, it glittered. I polished the chrome until it shone. I even fixed the basket, it was a bit torn in a few areas. But it was beautiful, I could carry my purchases in it. Riding through Chelsea on my bike is my favourite thing in the world really. I bought flowers from my favourite vendor. He always gives me for free when I see him, just to be a gentleman. But I bought a bouquet this last time. Orange and red tiger lilies. Heart colours. Orange and red. And fruit. Fruit is the loveliest food in the world. The colours, red, dark purple, peach. Blood oranges. When you cut them open, they're red inside. I eat them raw, just take the peels off. My brother likes them sugared.

I tie-dyed these knee socks right before school started. I think they would look lovely with the vintage white dress I found is a shoppe in Chelsea. It's very floaty, like wearing a cloud. How lovely would that be? To wear a cloud. So wonderfully soft and fluffy. I'm going to knit another pair of rainbow striped ones, I wore my other pair to bed last night. I looked down at them, and felt so happy. How could you not wearing rainbows? It's impossible.

I'm reading the best book in the world right now. It's called "Kitchen" By Banana Yoshimoto. It's about being lost and found at the same time. What a wonderful thing, to be lost like that. I feel a little lost right now, but that could be because I'm tired, and I'm cleaning. My brain is all fuzzy. I would rather like to go outside and watch the clouds turn their shapes or down by the lake, and watch the squid. Or take an outside nap. The best ones.

I love my group three, everyone is so lovely. I'm going to make us team three necklaces, or knit us team three socks. That would be so wonderful.

Love and Peace,
Laurel

My brother took me to a house party over the weekend in Camden. It was in a rather dodgy sort of area, and everyone was spilling out into the streets. The entire place was decorated in white fairy lights, and the air was humid and warm. It was pink and pillowing, and smelled like ale. I got pissed rather fast, from the ale, or the slightly glowing punch. I ended up dancing on a picnic table to all sort of muggle oldies. Bloc Party one of my brother's pissed friends told me. I was finally able to wear my new old silk slip. It's so lovely. Turquoise, and trimmed with ivory lace. I finished my feather clip, it looked like a little bird, I pinned it to my hair. It just so hot, I could feel the sweat down my back as I danced. It made my limbs feel tired, I ended up falling asleep on a couch that smelled like ale and skin. My brother woke me up the next day. He had such dark rings under his eyes, he was up all night. It must have been the pill he took. He gave me one too, I stuck it in my purse, I can take it later, when I need to be inspired I suppose.

my new drawing )

I woke up and drew Sophie yesterday. Then I spent the day at the Chelsea park, because the weather was actually warm and lovely. I didn't have to wear my froggy wellies, though I wanted to, just for fun really.

I'm going to take my bike out for ride around the Chelsea market place. I want some fresh flowers, tiger lilies and red roses, orange and red are the heart colours you know. Theres loads of fresh fruit, that's all I've been wanting to eat lately, fruit salads, they're so beautiful. All colourful, if food isn't colourful, why eat it?

The carnival was so much fun, I ate a load of cotton candy, it's so fluffy and soft. I like the blue one, it looks like sky pieces. And I of course rode the painted ponies, and the ferris wheel. I like how it lights up.

I'm making necklaces for my roommates, as a welcome back to school early present before we have to go back. I hope they enjoy them as much I enjoyed making them.

Peace and love,
Laurel

Its a shame that we have to return to school so soon, I'm going to miss out on the family camping trip to Ireland now. I love it, it's just so lovely. Everything is all green and fresh, and the rain makes it shine silver. We usually go the first two weeks in August, that's when my da has off. I wear all my new wellies, and my sister and press butterflies into books. And wildflowers as well. My brother paints and draws such lovely things. My da is actually relaxed, which he isn't very often. He's a very high strung sort of man. I'm a little disappointed, but I'm sure I can find things at school that are just as lovely.

I painted that last week, it gave me something to do honestly, plus, I think it's rather nice. It reminded me of the carnival, and of the ferris wheel ride I promised Lourdes. I love the ferris wheel, especially when its all lit up, and you can see the whole carnival. I think the carnival is going to be a lot of fun.

Yunia challenged me to do a ballet dance in front of everyone, you are on lovely Yunia, I'm currently sewing a new tutu for the occasion. I have a reason for all that tulle I just purchased now.

Sparky, I love my new scarf, and my new handbag. I am going to wear it all the time. I hope you enjoyed the one I knitted you as well.

Kirby, I am knitting you something as well, it will be lovely.

I am going to put on my frog wellies and jump around in puddles at the Chelsea park, and then go to a house party with my lovely brother Nick. I have to enjoy the last of my summer hols.

Peace and love,
Laurel

I rather love the summer hols. Its warm and lovely, sometimes the sun actually comes out. I can wear all my dresses, without jumpers. I have a magpie sense of style, I love to search for shiny things. I found a sequined beret at the my favourite second hand shoppe for only ten quid, I bought it to wear with my 1920s silk slip, so I can look like Bonnie Parker. I need a set of pearls, a big gun, and a Clyde.

I've been working on some of my jewelry pieces, I have lots of time, and what's better to fill that time with than making something lovely?

It's not much, but it's fun work on, and there is something really satisfying about using the metal cutters. Though, my da is convinced that I'm going to cut off my fingers. I don't think it could happen, but anything is possible yeah?

I finally was able to get my bicycle out of the storage room, there is really no better way of getting around London, than on a bicycle. You can dart in and out around cars. It's so lovely, peach and sparkly. I have a basket, I can fit my mini dachshund in it. He likes to go for rides, his name is Pepper. We went to the Chelsea park yesterday.

Thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes, it really made the day rather special.

Peace and love,
Laurel

Even though it's been raining, which I think is so lovely, I had a chance to wear my new wellie. They're bright green with little froggy faces on the toes. I wore them with my green rain jacket and my green umbrella, and went for a rainy day stroll. I had a rather lovely time, jumping in the puddles, and dancing in the rain. People seem to think rain equals a rubbish day, but it doesn't have to. It made everything look all silver, and shiny.

When I came inside, I worked on my minotaur puppet, I cut him out of paper, and coloured him with pastels, he looked all red and orange, heart colours. I put him on chopsticks, I saved them in my trunk from home. My mum showed me how to make the puppet, she used to make them when she was a girl. It's too warm to knit, makes my arms sweat, and who needs a scarf at this moment? I think I'm doing to make a dragon next, I have some blue glitter that will make him look all shiny and make his colour pop. I still have enough chopsticks for him too. Crafts keep my hands busy, I like busy hands.

My birthday is in three days, I want art supplies, and some fabric to make a new dress. My da always buys me dresses I don't like. They're pretty, but they come from boutiques, and I don't like that. Everyone would have the same one, I don't want to look like everyone, I only want to look like Laurel. My brother is the best gift giver, last year he painted me a portrait, and the year before, he baked me a five layer birthday cake and it frosted in blue and white, and was lovely. I always look forward to his birthday surprises. I love surprises.

I really hope we're having roasted potatoes tonight in the Great Hall, they're so delicious. And pie, of any kind really, I'm not picky.
