Even though it's been raining, which I think is so lovely, I had a chance to wear my new wellie. They're bright green with little froggy faces on the toes. I wore them with my green rain jacket and my green umbrella, and went for a rainy day stroll. I had a rather lovely time, jumping in the puddles, and dancing in the rain. People seem to think rain equals a rubbish day, but it doesn't have to. It made everything look all silver, and shiny.
When I came inside, I worked on my minotaur puppet, I cut him out of paper, and coloured him with pastels, he looked all red and orange, heart colours. I put him on chopsticks, I saved them in my trunk from home. My mum showed me how to make the puppet, she used to make them when she was a girl. It's too warm to knit, makes my arms sweat, and who needs a scarf at this moment? I think I'm doing to make a dragon next, I have some blue glitter that will make him look all shiny and make his colour pop. I still have enough chopsticks for him too. Crafts keep my hands busy, I like busy hands.
My birthday is in three days, I want art supplies, and some fabric to make a new dress. My da always buys me dresses I don't like. They're pretty, but they come from boutiques, and I don't like that. Everyone would have the same one, I don't want to look like everyone, I only want to look like Laurel. My brother is the best gift giver, last year he painted me a portrait, and the year before, he baked me a five layer birthday cake and it frosted in blue and white, and was lovely. I always look forward to his birthday surprises. I love surprises.
I really hope we're having roasted potatoes tonight in the Great Hall, they're so delicious. And pie, of any kind really, I'm not picky.
